Sejong VR Travel Videos 세종

Korea built this one from scratch. Sejong was farmland until 2012, when most of the government moved out of Seoul and a city was drawn around it — named for the king who created the alphabet Koreans still write in, and the reference keeps going. Walk the Geumgang pedestrian bridge and you are crossing a closed ring 1,446 metres round, one metre for each year up to 1446, when that alphabet was promulgated; from above, the ring is the letter ieung. Look along the ministries and their rooftop garden runs unbroken for three and a half kilometres. Explore a national arboretum under glass, and a lake park that was dug rather than found. Whether a planned city can feel like a place is exactly the question — and VR is a fair way to ask it. Step inside these VR films and decide for yourself — in a headset, or straight in your browser.
